After a very frustrating couple of weeks, I was very tempted to forget the challenge. Luckily perseverance kept me going, along with the support of family, friends and work colleagues. Since that blip things have been very positive again.
Positive outcomes – weight and inch loss, loose clothing, comments from others, feeling good and having more energy.
Negative outcomes - aching muscles from workouts.
This has been a very busy time for me making it harder to keep focused. It has included working, helping out at the athletics club, attending meetings with MSC, a family party, a 60th Birthday BBQ (Weekend away), my own birthday, 40th Birthday, a week long relaxing holiday (needed) and a weekend visit to the grandchildren.
No two weeks are the same making it harder to get into an eating routine, but that’s how life works and you have to adjust to whatever happens. I just keep drinking plenty of water to keep my body hydrated and to help flush out any toxins.
I have been doing circuit training to help with the exercise side of my weight loss challenge. These are really good and I'm enjoying them even though they are hard but it is definitely making a difference, I'm working muscles that have lain dormant for many years. I am looking out for other forms of fitness and if anyone is interested in helping my challenge by suggesting other activities or fitness classes I can try-please let me know by messaging me through my Facebook page.
My holiday at Grannie's Heilan' Hame in Embo with my friend was so relaxed, spending time walking in the fresh sea air, sleeping, eating and knitting for the grandchildren. I also found that staying away from social media/emails etc for the majority of the week helped me feel more chilled out. Weight loss was really good after the holiday and my body felt recharged.
I have been getting a lot of advice from patients at work including cutting out carbs, increasing protein, drinking water, increasing exercise, joining slimming groups and following different diets. I am so grateful for all the tips and some of them I try, some not, but it’s always good to get some new ideas to find the best for my body.
After 3 months I can say I am really pleased with my results (maybe not quite reaching the wee targets I set myself) but I have still a long way to go. I’m also so grateful to my family/friends/followers for the support and donations so far as I cannot forget the other reason I need to keep this going.
With construction of the MSC having started every penny raised through my challenge will go towards new athletic facilities so please keep donating and sharing the news.
If you are heading off on your holidays remember stay safe, healthy and relaxed.
