MSC Coronavirus update 18/03/2020

Updated: Mar 19

At this time, we can confirm we have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 and any changes will be communicated at the earliest opportunity.

The Moray Sports Centre remains open until directed otherwise by Government and will continue to support the mental and physical health of Moray during this difficult time as our nation adapts to life with Coronavirus.

The following measures have been put in place from Wednesday 18th March, to continue to operate our facilities.

  • Essential staff will be in the facility to ensure we adhere to our Health & Safety Policies and cleaning regimes.

  • Where possible staff members have been redeployed to work from home.

  • A full review of the timetable has been completed. The following classes will be removed until further notice:

o Bring your baby to…

o Prime Classes and activities

o Any classes specifically for high-risk groups such as Cancer Rehab, Disability Sessions etc

o Birthday Parties

A temporary timetable with reduced classes will be added to the website at the earliest opportunity. The capacity in each class is also being adjusted to allow each person to comfortably implement social distancing in the studios to help reduce the risk to participants. If you are attending a class, please ensure you follow the guidance from the instructor.

The Gym remains operational with additional cleaning regimes in place. We kindly ask that you support us with the following additional measures when you enter the facility and undertake any activities:

  • Please bring in your own Yoga mats as we will not be putting these out in classes.

  • Wash your hands on entering the facility, regular hand washing with soap (for at least 20 seconds) or alcohol-based solution.

  • Covering coughing or sneezing with a tissue or elbow.

  • Wash hands straight after sneezing.

  • Avoiding touching of eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Using a sweat towel and cleaning any equipment before AND after use.

  • Limiting contact with people who are sick and staying home if you are sick.

  • The CDC also recommends cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects.

Will be reviewing the use of all the changing facilities and toilets in the coming days to limit the areas requiring potential deep cleans.

To prevent our facility from closing, please do not visit the centre:

· If you have been in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms stay home, the new information indicates you should self-isolate for 14 days, even if you do not have symptoms.

· Be mindful of the highlighted groups who are at more risk of contracting the virus. Members must always adhere to the use of the anti-bacterial wipes provided. Source:

What should you be aware of regarding Moray Sports Centre Operations? • We intend to keep the facility open but will keep this position under constant review. • We are working closely with GNF our cleaning company to review our business continuity planning during these unprecedented times and develop longer terms plans which we can share when they become available.
